Fly On Teresa James

July 26, 2008 Aviation pioneer Teresa James passed away at age 94. James took flying lessons to surprise her brother and soloed after only 4 hours and 30 minutes of training. “I swore never to fly again,” she said. But she did fly, teaching pilots and serving with the WAFS during WWII. Her uniform is on display at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
