Eileen Vollick Flies In First

March 13, 1928 Nineteen-year-old Eileen Vollick passed the test to become Canada’s first licensed female pilot. She flew figure 8’s and landed her Curtis Jenny float plane on frozen Burlington Bay. In 2008, on what would have been Vollick’s 100th birthday, the Wiarton-Keppel International Airport dedicated the Eileen Vollick Terminal.
