April 17, 1921 Pilot and wingwalker Phoebe Omlie made her first parachute jump but landed in a clump of trees. She became much better at parachuting, claiming the highest parachute jump by a female and landing the job of aerobatic stunt pilot for the movie The Perils Of Pauline. Omlie was known for dancing the Charleston from the top wing of a plane and dangling by her teeth.
